Description:
Original vintage Finnish promotional matchbook sleeve advertising Kauneushoitola & Kampaamo Elsa Arento, a mid-century beauty salon operating in central Helsinki.

The design is pure period elegance, combining a repeating rose pattern with refined typography that feels more fashion house than high-street hairdresser. The sleeve lists two salon locations — Aikatalo, Mikonkatu 8 (2nd floor) and Salon Cecilie, Annankatu 15 — suggesting a well-established and popular business.

Produced by Mainostikku Hamina, these matchbook sleeves were handed out to clients and visitors and were never intended to be kept, making survivors increasingly scarce.

A beautiful piece of beauty, fashion, and graphic design ephemera from Finland’s mid-century salon culture.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition. Light age-related wear only. Colours remain strong and the print is clear with no major faults.
