Original vintage Finnish promotional matchbook sleeve produced by Enso-Gutzeit, one of Finland’s largest and most important paper and forestry companies (now part of Stora Enso). This piece was created as a trade and corporate advertising item, rather than a consumer souvenir.

The design combines a modernist world map motif with industrial imagery, reinforcing Enso-Gutzeit’s international export focus. The reverse text explains that the matchbox itself is made from Kaukopää fully bleached coated Enso kraftboard, with matches produced from Pankakoski matchboard, making this a self-referential promotional piece demonstrating the company’s own materials in use.

A smart and understated example of mid-century Scandinavian corporate design, appealing to collectors of industrial history, paper and printing ephemera, and Finnish modernist advertising. Unused and well preserved, with strong historical and design interest.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition. Unused promotional sleeve with clean print and good colour. Light surface wear only, consistent with age. No tears or structural damage.
