Description:
Original vintage Finnish political campaign matchbook sleeve issued by the Kokoomus party to promote candidate Oiva Halmetoja.

Designed to wrap around a standard matchbook, these sleeves were handed out during election campaigns as everyday advertising — practical, cheap, and impossible to ignore. The front features strong mid-century graphic design with Kokoomus branding, while the reverse shows Halmetoja’s portrait alongside his ballot number “4” and the Finnish word “äänet” (votes).

Printed by Mainostikku Hamina, a Finnish advertising match manufacturer, this is a cracking example of how politics once lived on ordinary objects you’d actually keep in your pocket.

Most were used. Very few survived.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition. Light age-related wear consistent with use and storage. Print remains clear and bold with no tears or major damage.
