Growing up, we lived in a block of flats — four in total.
Loads of young families. Loads of chaos. And always something going on. 🏢👫👬
But next door?
A massive, creepy, derelict house.
Falling apart. Boarded up. Rumoured to be haunted. 🏚️☠️
Our parents warned us to stay away.
Did we listen?
Course we didn’t.
The Piano Nobody Played…
One wing of that house used to be part of a school, apparently. Inside sat this dusty old piano. And people swore they could hear it playing at night… 😨🎶
I’d been in there loads of times.
Scared, yeah — but curiosity wins every time when you’re a kid.
The place was massive. You could get lost just trying to find the kitchen.
But I never heard the piano.
Until that day.
The Day It Played
We snuck in through a loose window, dropped to the floor, and the piano started playing.
Right. On. Cue. 😱💩
My soul left my body.
But I had to check it out.
Creeping forward, heart pounding, there it was…
A figure at the piano. A ghost, sitting right there, playing away.
It turned around slowly…
I nearly passed out.
Then the sheet dropped.
And it was my brother. 🤡
Grinning like a little gremlin.
Playing the prank of a lifetime.
Got Me Good
We all screamed. Then we laughed. Then we maybe got a bit ragey.
He got us. Properly.
Still, even now… when the wind’s just right…
🎹 You can still hear that piano.
Even though the house is long gone.
Or maybe… just maybe…
He wasn’t the only one playing it. 👀
